Your appointments
What to expect
1
Initial appointment
A 45 to 60 minute assessment. Your psychiatrist talks with you about your symptoms, history and goals, and starts working with you on a treatment plan.
2
Follow-up appointments
Standard (20 minutes) or extended (30 minutes) reviews to check your progress, adjust treatment and review any medication.
3
Working with your GP
We keep your GP and referring doctor informed. Where it suits your care, your GP can continue your treatment once you’re stable.
Wait times are estimates and change with psychiatrist availability. See current wait times.
Eligible patients living in Modified Monash Model 2–7 locations, including Department of Veterans’ Affairs card holders, may be able to have a bulk-billed psychiatric assessment (MBS Item 291). Check your eligibility.
You’ll need a referral from your GP or specialist. Send it to us and our team will match you with a psychiatrist and send your intake forms. Not sure about something? Call or email us.
