How it works

Your path to care, step by step

1

Send your referral

Ask your GP for a referral, or contact us if you need help getting one.

2

Referral review

Our team reviews your referral to confirm we can help, and matches you with the psychiatrist best suited to your needs. We then send you our intake forms.

3

Book your appointment

Once we have your documents, you book online with your psychiatrist. Together you’ll develop a treatment plan, and we keep your referring doctor informed throughout your care.

Frequently asked questions

What happened to Cloud Clinic?

Cloud Clinic by Avive is now Avive Virtual Care, part of avivehealth.com.au. It’s the same psychiatrists and the same team. Your booking and telehealth links, our phone number (1800 573 297) and our email (help@cloudclinic.com.au) haven’t changed.

Do I need a referral?

Yes. We need a valid referral from your GP before you can book an appointment. If you enquire online, we can send you our questionnaires and documents to take to your GP, along with our GP physical health check form.

Why do you ask for documents before my appointment?

We ask you to complete intake forms, questionnaires and other documents before your first appointment. Your psychiatrist can then review your history and symptoms beforehand, which helps avoid delays and, where appropriate, lets treatment planning start straight after your first appointment.

Why do I need to complete questionnaires before an ADHD assessment?

The questionnaires help make your assessment as accurate and useful as possible. They:

  • screen for ADHD symptoms
  • gather your background, including early signs, school history and mental health concerns
  • support a clear diagnosis using standard clinical tools
  • save time in your appointment, so your psychiatrist can focus on you
  • meet medical and legal requirements, especially if medication may be discussed.
Why do I need an ECG for an ADHD assessment?

If you may be considered for stimulant medication, your psychiatrist needs a recent ECG (electrocardiogram). ADHD medications can sometimes affect the heart, for example by raising your heart rate, and the ECG helps your doctor decide whether they’re safe for you or whether another treatment would suit you better. Your GP can arrange it.

Having an ECG before your review can reduce the number of appointments needed before treatment starts, which keeps your costs down.

Do I need to keep a credit card on file?

Yes. As a telehealth-only service, all payments are made online to confirm and secure appointments. Our patient portal, Halaxy, uses industry-standard encryption to protect your details. How card details are managed.

Can I claim a Medicare rebate?

Yes, with a current referral: GP referrals must be dated within 12 months and specialist referrals within 3 months. We process your rebate the working day after your appointment. See fees and Medicare rebates.
